Levy Specifics

  • This levy is a ‘continuing operating levy’ that is anticipated to generate approximately $4.5 million/year beginning on January 1, 2013, if passed.

  • The levy will cost the owner of a home valued at $100,000, an additional approximate:
  •  $180/year,

  • $15/month,

  • $4/week,

  • Less than $.50/day

  • Levy funds generated by this issue will be used for the maintaining of current educational programming.
  • Funding generated by this levy is anticipated to last for the next three fiscal years.

  • The previous operating levy, successfully passed by voters in 2008, was anticipated to only last two years, but district leadership stretched the funding four years, due to the streamlining of operations, making cuts when necessary and identifying grant and other outside revenue sources, such as federal stimulus dollars.

  • The need for voting FOR this levy is significant, since only 13% of district revenues come from the state, while 87% of revenues are generated by local tax dollars.

  • Despite recent news that Ohio Lottery profits have increased, NO ADDITIONAL monies will come to the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools.
